Making my first brave step, Mr. R helped, scratch that, painted the whole place, while I made doodles on the wall. I chose a shade of green called "Rejuvenate", which is a pale shade of olive green.
With my experience being an HGTV fanatic, I thought I had it all down when it came to decorating, but it's so much harder than I had imagined, especially when I'm limited to a color palette that will go with my wall color.
I'm a big fan of apartmenttherapy and I love how this room has that simple, clean look that I love, but shows character through it's bold colorful accent pieces. I LOVE that aqua-cyan art piece and red chandelier for this place, they add a sense of youth to the rest of the maturely designed home. I love love love how there is a distinction of style and design between the sleeping area and the living area, even though everything is in one big room. And I must admit, I'm always impressed with animal-print that is well used, although I really hope that's faux fur (for the PETA in me).

Because I live in a studio, I'm also very limited with space and am trying to stay away from gaudy, superfluous decorations. I'm a big fan of simplicity with hints of boldness so I'm trying to go for that feel. I had first imagined decorating my place to look something similar to that of what you see when walking into Dior or Chanel, but I'm sad to say, white furniture everywhere means more places for my pomeranian to mark up and make ugly.
I'm still picking up pieces here and there and trying to find good, and affordable ideas for decorating. Please share your ideas! I love hearing creative ways to make a small place not look cluttered but still full of character!
Hopefully when I'm finished, or at least far along, I can proudly post up images from my own room!
